About PaxWalk

PaxWalk is a non-profit organization that works to increase knowledge about pilgrimage and make it possible for more people to find their way to the pilgrim trails. PaxWalk wants to contribute to collaboration between different actors on trail development and make it easier for pilgrim organizers to reach out with information to interested hikers.

PaxWalk is a collaborative community that wants to make pilgrimage accessible to people of all ages, not least children and young people, regardless of functional variations, gender and sexual orientation, as well as of social, cultural and religious background. Our goal is to highlight the value of pilgrimage and pilgrimage routes in our common quest for peace and coexistence, spiritual, mental and physical health, and a sustainable and climate-adapted life. We would like to point out the importance of the pilgrim routes for the transmission of traditions and cultural heritage conservation, as well as for dialogue and social integration.

The association is part of the Nordic Pilgrim Movement and wants to work in community and collaboration with all actors within this movement, in good and close cooperation with the National Association of Pilgrims in Sweden. On this page you will find information about the association’s activities, members and organization.
