Pilgrimage in Sweden

Swedish pilgrimage trails can be found all the way from the Dag Hammarskjöld Trail in Abisko in the north to Maria way in Trelleborg in the south. The Olav Trails runs through northern Sweden, and in Uppland there is the Ingegerd Trail between Stockholm Cathedral and Uppsala Cathedral. To the west you will find trails such as the Pilgrim Trail Göta River, the Pilgrim Trail Norra Dalsland or the Bohus Trail. Many find their way to the pilgrim Saint Birgitta's abbey church in Vadstena or to the old church metropolis of Lund with its 900-year-old Romanesque cathedral, which was once the hub of Northern Europe's largest church province.
